Kartra Review: Is It Worth It?

Right now, you’re probably drowning in a sea of tasks and responsibilities, but one thing that you should NOT have to deal with regularly is the technology to make your business run.

It’s no wonder cash is leaving your account faster than you can replenish it.

Before I Found Kartra

In the early stages of my business, I was trying and testing out quite a few software to grow my business.

It wasn’t until a year ago when I created my first funnel that I realized what a PITA it was just trying to launch this dang thing because trying to get control of the tech was slowing me down!

I was going to drive traffic to my sales page which was created and hosted on ClickFunnels, and then people would access that offer on MemberVault. I didn’t want to use ClickFunnels to house my courses because I’d heard horror stories about it and had used it firsthand with a client so I was not a fan of that feature.

I would engage with my customers through ConvertKit.

From there, to upsell my services and have someone book a call required me to use a scheduler like Calendly.

And if anything else didn’t have a native integration, I could turn to Zapier.

That right there required me to use at least 5 different types of tech just to sell my offers.

I was on the hunt to find a better solution. It never occurred to me there were all-in-one solutions until a client of mine mentioned that she uses Kartra to sell her offers.

What I love About Kartra

How I Use Kartra

Let’s take a look at how I use Kartra to build out my sales funnel.

Sales Pages

It starts with having a beautiful sales page that I can direct traffic to and provide my visitors with all the information they need to make an informed decision on whether to buy.

I love building my sales pages in Kartra because of the drag and drop page builder. It’s also incredibly easy to carry over similar elements to all your pages, and duplicating a page can be done with a click of a button.

There’s a great feature where you can mark a specific block of your page as your favorite and import it anywhere else. So easy!


There’s no need to use an outside source just to collect payment because you can easily use Kartra’s checkout system. Simply integrate it with your Stripe and PayPal account.

You can put a checkout form right on your sales page, in a different page, or as a standalone option.

You can choose a 2-step order form to capture cart abandonments as well.


After someone purchases your main offer, you can easily direct them to an upsell or downsell. Kartra offers two versions of one-click upsells.

The first option is where the customer simply clicks the button to add it to their order and it immediately processes.

The second option is where upon clicking, it states that the offer will be added. This second option helps to avoid chargebacks wherein the customer accidentally clicked without realizing it, and it’s the option I use.

After the Sale

Since you can easily build courses and memberships on Kartra, it’s easy to give buyers access to your content after they purchase.

When setting up your funnel, you simply select how they should access what they purchased.

Email Marketing

Emailing your buyers and nurturing them is effortless with Kartra. You can easily set up a series of emails to deliver and segment your subscribers however you’d like using tags and lists.

Pretty much, whatever journey you want your customers to take once they enter your world is up to you.


Just like how you can automate the types of emails your subscribers receive, you can automate pretty much anything else you’d like. I like to use automations to grant access to certain offers when someone buys a certain offer.

So I can tell Kartra, if someone buys product A, grant them access to product B too. I can tell Kartra tag someone as interested when they visit this site or move them to this sequence if they do this. There are a ton of automations you can use to make your life easier!

What I Don’t Like About Kartra

As great as Kartra is, it’s not without its flaws — no system is. So let’s go through some of the things I think Kartra can improve on.

Bump Offers

I love creating bump offers, and it annoys me to no end that you CANNOT offer PayPal as a payment method if you want to create a bump offer in your funnel. Many people love and trust PayPal so not being able to use it for an easy-yes offer is simply frustrating.

Kartra states that it’s a complex nature of processing two independent transactions, and there are a few limitations to the bump offer feature, including that PayPal is not supported so “don’t use bump offers if you’ve activated PayPal as a payment method for either the main product or the bump offer.”

Simply annoying because I have seen other payment checkouts be able to do this, namely ThriveCart.

So I don’t understand the hangup.


If you’re selling services, you need a reliable system for leads to book calls with you. Kartra’s calendar feature leaves a lot to be desired.

I find it incredibly tedious to set up, and on more than one occasion the calendar just chooses to not load on my pages. I would simply get an error. I would have to go into the settings and “refresh” it to make it appear.

Also, it’s annoying that the calendar view sets the start of the week as Monday and not Sunday like we’re all used to seeing on a calendar. It can cause confusion for your leads when booking time with you.

Lastly, it does not integrate with Zoom, so that right there is a deal breaker for me on this feature.

How Much Does Kartra Cost?

Kartra offers four different plans to fit your business and budget.

The Starter plan is $99/month for up to 2,500 leads.

Next, is the Silver plan at $199/month for up to 12,500 leads. This is the plan I have.

Then we have Gold at $299/month for up to $25,000 leads.

And finally Platinum at $499/month for up to 50,000 leads.

If you choose to pay annually on any of the plans, you do save 25%.

Depending on where you are in your business, you may find these prices to be a bit pricey, but it’s important to do the math and calculate how much you’d save by switching to Kartra.

And don’t forget to factor in the time you’d save NOT having to deal with tech problems.

There’s nothing worse than people who saw your offer, wanted to buy, but your buttons and checkout weren’t working so they left the page.

Or they purchased but your fulfillment sequence never fired.

When everything is all under one roof, it lessens the tech hangups that could happen.

Is Kartra Right For You?

If you want an all-in-one solution to run your business and build your funnels, I totally recommend it. I’ve switched tech so much in the early years of my business, and it’s such a PITA to switch over everything: landing/sales pages, offers, memberships, email marketing, etc.

Having said that, I know we all have different budgets, so do the math, factor in your time, and then you can decide whether it’s a good fit for you.
